This is a great controller! It is easy to work and has extra buttons for subtitles and chapter jumping. I searched for months at local game stores to find one that would work with a PS2 before opting to purchase from Amazon and I am extremely happy with the quality of this remote. I am not sure why it is labeled as a "Kit" because what you receive is the remote in its original Sony packaging and nothing else.

I am one of those people who, because is a mommy to a PS2, don't feel the need to buy a DVD player. Owning the PS2 DVD remote allows you to enjoy your PS2 like you would a DVD player. The remote is robust - all the features you would expect a DVD remote would have are integrated to it. Had no troubles with the IR connection like most people are complaining about and it requires no setup; just pop in the batteries and you're good to go. It's light, it fits nicely in your hand, and is just plain awesome.
