I really do like having this on my controller so I can type properly to people. It really isn't in the way and I no longer have to tediously and slowly type on the screen. It's a bit hard to get on but it snaps right into place. It also has a hole so you can still plug in the headset.

Go this kit with project racing also included. I put this onto one of my xbox 360 wireless controllers and connected the mic. Went online and played MW2 specs ops with a buddy online. Audio is clear, response it very quick. Make sure you have a broadband connection. Otherwise, this works as advertised.

Personally I'm not sure why people text message over XBox when you can do a voice mail, but my son does and this text messaging kit is so much better than texting using a typical controller. It is very well designed so that you can use it for gameplay the same as a regular controller and not lose your edge.

This is a nice accessory if you do any typing on your Xbox 360. With both Twitter and Facebook now available through Xbox Live, it makes things much easier.
I personally bought the Text Messaging Kit because I have been backing up my music from my Mac (Apple) to my Xbox 360 (Microsoft)... Needless to say, it is a arduous process, and the chat pad makes the typing of song titles and artists go much more quickly.
Also, when redeeming codes on XB Live, for MS points, games, DLC, what-have-you, the Text Kit makes typing the code in much easier.
