Nothing to add on to the controllers. Just plug and play. Lights up when charging and changes color when done.

bought this to replace an older charging stand that required a special clip to be able to charge in the cradle, the Energizer stand connects directly to the controller to charge, which i love, and i dont have to remove the silicone controller covers for it to charge anymore. well worth the price and much more convenient than my older charger.

If you have a PS3 and play it often, you need to have this charger. The base holds 2 controllers and will accommodate another 2. It will even accommodate the PS3 Bluetooth Headset, if you have one. Works just as advertised. We are very pleased with the performance of this product. Our PS3 controllers are now always fully charged. That is certainly a good thing. The unit just looks great too. Very sleek and stylish. Looks great in my equipment rack. When you first plug in a controller, it turns red to indicate it is charging. When charging is complete, the unit turns green. It will NOT overcharge your controllers which is a great feature. This will ensure the battery in your controllers will last and not get burned out by the charger.
As far as I am concerned, this is a must have product for your PS3. It looks and works just perfectly. Not a problem getting the controller into the unit. It is very easy and fits the first time. As mentioned above, I am very satisfied with this product.

First of all i would like to say. I did not order this from amazon.
I found this item at wal-mart a couple of days ago for $25. Same product i am sure of that. only difference is mine came with a official PS3 Headset Cradle Adapter/charger. Sweet deal if you ask me. Cause i broke my charging cradle that came with my headset.
Charges fast, looks nice, compact, also charges other usb item, including PS3 Keypad.
Very good product I would buy another if i had 7 controllers.

The Playstation 3 Energizer Power & Play Charging System rates pretty good as far as I am concerned.
I really did not have any difficulty as others mentioned in plugging in the controller to the usb hub on this unit. Yes you need to make sure your pushing it in correctly and not at any angle, you may have to pick up the unit to do that correctly, not a big deal.
What I did find is if you did not push it in completely making sure it was all the way pushed in that it would not charge and the red light would not come on.
I really like the light that comes on when you plug in a controller its a subtle light and not distracting at all.
It comes with a Playstation 3 Bluetooth headset adapter so if you own a PS3 Bluetooth it can charge that as well. This is of no use to you unless you already have or plan to get the PS3 Bluetooth Headset but it's a separate piece so it's not part of the unit if you don't need it there.
Overall I would have given this 5 stars but I give it 4 because of the following reason.
*I would liked to have seen the power cord be a little longer for my situation.
The power cord is 6 feet long which is a nice length, however I could have used an extra foot in my set up. Can't please everyone I know.
I wanted to also answer some past questions I noticed people were wondering about.
1. You can not use this AC power cord on other appliances don't attempt that.
2. You should not use this unit to charge other batteries, it should only be used to charge Playstation 3 controllers and the Playstation 3 Bluetooth Headset.
3. You can leave your controller in the charging unit even if it turns green, the charger is not suppose to hurt your battery.
Overall this is a nice charger; as far as appearance goes you can't beat it really!
