THIS GAME IS THE BEST! March 7, 2010 Kathleen Cortino (Tinley Park, IL United States) Donkey Kong Country for the GBA is one of the greatest games I have ever played! I played it when I was about 8 years old and it was so fun I bought again! You play as DK and Diddy as you go through 6 worlds and get the all the bad guys (kremilings, zingers, armys). There's special bonus barrels and cameras hidden in each level. Also, the letters K O N G are hidden in each level and if you get them, you get a life! There's even cheats for the game! Ride DK's animal friends: Winky the frog, Expresso the ostrich, Rambi the rhino, and Enguarde the swordfish. Some levels are hard and will take a few tries to complete. Overall though, DKC is one of the best games I've played (and I have a DS and I play DS games so if I think a GBA is good, that's saying something). My final words: BUY THIS GAME! IT'S AWESOME!
Nice! October 8, 2009 Noemi (Texas) I am very pleased with my purchase. Being that the game was used I thought it would have been in pooorer condition but it works like new. Game is a little different that what it looked in on the Super Nintendo, everything is pretty much the same except for some extras.
AWESOME VIDEO GAME!! July 7, 2009 Mariana Elena Funes Funes (KY USA) The video game is incredible. It is a classic! it is easy to play and understand.Besides, it has great and believable characters.
3.5 stars. Decent remake of a classic game, April 26, 2009 Adam Sims (Kentucky) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
DKC for the SNES was the first game I ever played, and it has always been one of my favorites. Released in 1994, it breathed new light into the SNES console with its breathtaking graphics and fun gameplay. It was remade for the GBC later on, and now it's for the GBA. How does it compare to the SNES?
If you're reading this review, I assume that you've played it for the SNES already, so I'll talk more about the differences between the GBA and SNES version. All the levels are intact, but some levels on worlds have been swapped. Not only that, but the maps are different (as well as in 2 and 3, which I dislike. Also the bosses have a few differences as well. For instance, Queen B shields herself with Zingers after being hit, and now to defeat Dumb Drum, you have to throw TNT barrels at him as well as killing the enemies he makes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Also the graphics, sounds, and music are super inferior to the SNES version, even though GBA is supposed to be a better system.
They have also added minigames and such. Instead of saving, (which you can do anytime, which I don't like) Candy's is used to play a rhythm game. Funky's, besides being able to visit previous worlds, is also used for a fishing game. Also when you beat the game, you can play Hero Mode, where you play as Diddy. There are also pictures to collect as well, but they are kind of pointless.
Overall, it's an okay remake, but instead of putting all this extra crap into this game, Rare should have made the graphics and sound a whole lot better, because it doesn't feel like the original DKC.
Classic game as good as ever January 27, 2009 VolleyballDad (Oklahoma) This is a great game and very hard to find now. The story line is you are going to regain the banana hoard that Kremlin took. The levels are difficult yet fun and the grafics are very pleasing. The fun music and bad guys make it on the level of Mario. The key feature is that you have two characters that can switch or if one dies the other will continue the mission alone.
