Star Wars Battlefront is back and bigger than ever on the PlayStation Portable (PSP). A third-person shooter, Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron is the deepest and most action-packed Star Wars Battlefront game ever. Experience battlefronts that span ground, space and capital starships, a robust original storyline and expanded gameplay features--including 16-player multiplayer support--that deliver seemingly endless replayability. Story and Gameplay The storyline of Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron concerns the two clone trooper brothers X2 and X1. Clones created using Jedi DNA, they were originally designed to aid in Order 66, the great Jedi purge set in motion by Chancellor Palpatine as a pretext to establishing the Empire. However, X2 chooses to foresake this path and instead joins the rebel alliance, standing opposed to his brother, X1, who remains aligned with the dark side and the plans of the revealed Darth Sidious. Gameplay Levels and Features Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron allows players to engage in combat on multiple levels where every action matters. On the ground players fight both on foot and utilizing a variety of vehicles, units and weapons, while an assortment of Rebel and Imperial craft takes the fight into space, with brief cutscenes between levels creating a seamless experience. Whether on the ground or in the air, the players combat stats have direct consequences on the overall outcome of battles, making the outcome of each exchange crucial. The game also features multiple game modes and features, including the Heroes and Villains Mode, where you play as favorite characters from the Star Wars universe, and 16-player multiplayer support. Customization Players will have at their disposal massive amounts of pick-up and play action for seemingly endless replay value. The PSP provides the deepest customization options ever seen in a Star Wars Battlefront title, allowing players to personalize and build their character with more weapons and items than ever before, including the weapons characters carry into battle, the armor they wear on their backs, their species, gender, appearance and physical strengths. Players can also unlock hundreds of other items and bonuses to help even the odds. An evolution of the Battlefront experience. Do NOT listen to all the lies!!!!!!!!!! August 18, 2010 Blessed with 4 I got this game, and, while in the mail, I worried if I should have got it, if I wasted my money, that kind of stuff. Well It came, I opened ,and I loved it! You NEED to get this game!
Worst of the Series August 15, 2010 Coffee Lover (Texas) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Absolutely, hands down the worst Battlefront game made yet. Not only is it an awful Battlefront game, but a bad game in general.
First of all, the campaign mode. If you are a casual Star Wars fan, you will probably find it mildly enjoyable at best. If, however, you a serious SW fan like I am, you will HATE it. It presents the absurd story of two clones who become Jedi, and it just cannot fit at all into the SW universe.
Gameplay: The gameplay is terrible. Ground combat consists of mostly strafing for the entire extent of the character being a clone. For bosses, all you ever do is find the one thing that hurts them (the only thing, mind you) and do this over and over. Some think that's okay, but really, it's not. Space combat is possibly the worst of all. Your ship is on a horizontal plane, and you just fly here and there shooting starfighters. It's a joke really. The quickplay, or whatever it's called, feature I have just not even tried yet, because I hate this game so much, but I doubt it's any better than the rest of the game.
If you're a little kid who doesn't mind repetitive gameplay and awful graphics (this is expected for DS), then I think you'll like it. However, if you are a gamer who likes fun, replayable gameplay, you will not. If you are a serious SW fan, you will not like the story AT ALL. And lastly, if you at all like Battlefront, Battlefron II and Renegade Squardron, do not touch this.
pretty fun the first few times but gets boring August 3, 2010 psp player I've completed this game and it was really fun and a fairly long game, then i completed it and started doing instant action{you can play capture the flag, heroes and villians etc.you can also choose from planets, each planet contains certain varieties}Sometimes instant action can be in space, like capture the flag. The graphics arent the best but they're pretty good. After a while of playing this game,I kinda started to get bored of it but overall it was a fun game and a good buy.
It's pretty good! July 30, 2010 Lisa-Gaye Shearing This game is fun. You get to control X2, a Jedi Clone who is among the clone and stormtrooper ranks. He turns his back on the Empire after Order 66, and is found by Rahm Kota, who recruits him to the Rebellion. Luke Skywalker later trains him in the ways of the force, and you become a jedi. In the game, you duel General Grievous, XI (you're evil twin 'brother'), Boba Fett, fight on Endor, Hoth, Mustafar, Corascant, and Yavin 4. The game's graphics aren't the best, but it has fun gameplay. Battlefront Elite Squadron shouldn't be a part of the Battlefront line, since it is more independent rather than lead your troops into the frontline. Nevertheless I would reccoment this to anyone.

This is an okay game, but it's a lot different than the video. I think the video was mostly playing on the PSP. It allows little freedom and is not nearly as good as Battlefront 2 on Playstation 2. If you're expecting it to be as good as it is on full sized consoles, you will be disappointed.
